Get your divorce application handled online.
Our Simple Divorce Service is for people in England and Wales who want the divorce application prepared and submitted for them, without dealing with confusing forms, court admin or unnecessary solicitor costs for a straightforward divorce-only case.
Divorces.co.uk is an information website and is not a law firm. Our Simple Divorce Service is coming soon and will be for suitable divorce-only applications in England and Wales.
Find what you need quickly.
Start with the quick fit check, then see what the service includes, how the process works, likely costs and the other options if divorce-only is not enough.
You are divorcing in England or Wales, have been married for at least one year, and mainly need the divorce application handled.
This is for legally ending the marriage. It does not automatically sort money, property, pensions or future financial claims.
If there is a home, savings, pensions, debts or a financial agreement, look at a consent order or clean break order as well.
What is the Simple Divorce Service?
It is a handled online divorce application service. Instead of you trying to complete the court application yourself, we prepare the application from your details and submit it online where your case is suitable.
It is designed for straightforward divorce-only cases where you do not need the court to resolve a financial dispute, child arrangements or a complex legal problem.

How long does a simple online divorce take?
Even a straightforward divorce is not instant. The divorce process in England and Wales has fixed waiting periods.
The quickest cases are usually measured in months, not days. Delays can happen if information is missing, the application has errors, your spouse does not respond, or finances need dealing with before final order.
Application prepared and submitted
The divorce application is prepared, checked and submitted online where the service is suitable.
Court issues the application
The court checks and issues the application. The 20-week period runs from the date the court issues it.
Conditional order
After the waiting period, the conditional order stage confirms the court sees no legal reason the divorce cannot continue.
Final order
After the required wait, the final order can be applied for. This is the order that legally ends the marriage.
Simple Divorce Service
The main option for people who want the divorce application handled for them. It gives you more support than DIY, without moving straight to a full solicitor-managed route where that may not be needed.
The divorce application and financial clean break are separate.
A final order ends the marriage, but it does not automatically end financial claims between spouses. If there is a home, savings, pensions, debts, maintenance or any financial agreement, check the financial order options before finalising the divorce.
For people who want to understand how future financial claims may be closed off where suitable.
Agreement Financial consent orderFor people who have agreed money, property or pensions and want that agreement recorded properly.
Both together Divorce and consent orderFor people who want the divorce application and financial agreement considered together.
Simple online divorce FAQs.
Clear answers for people considering a divorce-only application in England and Wales.
Is this service for England and Wales only?
Yes. This page is about the divorce application process in England and Wales. Scotland and Northern Ireland have different divorce rules and court processes.
Will you submit the divorce application for me?
That is the planned service. For suitable straightforward divorce-only cases, the Simple Divorce Service will prepare and submit the online divorce application for you.
Do I still pay the court fee?
Yes. The court fee is separate from any service fee. The current divorce application fee in England and Wales is £612, unless you qualify for help with fees.
Does divorce only sort out money?
No. Divorce ends the marriage. It does not automatically sort property, pensions, savings, debts, maintenance or future financial claims.
What if we have already agreed the finances?
If finances are agreed, you may still need a financial consent order to record the agreement properly. Do not assume a private agreement is enough.
How long does a simple divorce take?
A straightforward divorce usually takes at least 26 weeks because of the required 20-week wait before conditional order and the further 43-day wait before final order.
